Cafe-hopping Friday

written on Sunday, December 8, 2013 @ 11:37 PM ♥

It's been a long time since I last met up with my beloved Churpies so I asked them out this Friday! Together with Jayne and Mel, the five of us went on a cafe-hopping for dinner plus desserts.

This week has been really tiring for me so I felt like a zombie after work. But nothing perks me up more than meeting the girls on a Friday night!

Mel recommended that we have dinner at SPR MKT, which is about a 10 minutes walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT. It's really near her office and she's been wanting to try after seeing posts about their food on Instagram.

Like the name suggests, SPR MKT is like a supermarket! Small teeny one though hahaha.

SPRMKT

2 McCallum Street, Singapore 069043
Opening hours
Mon - Fri: 8am - 9pm
Saturaday: 9am - 4pm (Brunch)

Other than food, they have a small corner near the shopfront that sells fresh vegetables, a shelf of imported beer and another corner for pastries.

Oh! There's even a small collection of wine!

It's definitely a place that has a little of everything.

Here's us waiting for our food. All so happy here! :D

We ordered truffle fries to share because there's people raving about it online, so its a must-try! Just the right amount of truffle oil with truffle bits, strands of cheese and parsley scattered over it. Super yummy!!!

It's my first truffle fries with truffle bits scattered over it! It's so savoury and it adds depth to the fries. I have problem controlling my hands so I won't over eat and finish it all by myself.

- thumbs up -

Our mains: Beef/pork sausage with mashed potatoes, chicken teriyaki sandwich and eggs benedict.

They were not bad but not fantastic either. Probably wouldn't come here again for the mains la.

BUT. This thing that looks like our Art Science Museum is damn good!

It's actually their bread pudding and highly raved online as well.

It's flaky on top but soft and fluffy below. Comes with a sweet creamy sauce which we drizzled on top on it. I like this too! Not too sweet and not too dry like the rest of the bread puddings that I've tried before.

So definitely coming back for the truffle fries and bread pudding!

Jayne came thereafter and we headed over to Group Therapy Coffee to chill and to have some desserts.

✿

Only a supposedly 10 minutes walk away but we took a little longer because we got lost as their signboard was unlit among other fluorescent signboards along Duxton Road so it was hard to find.

G and I both have cravings for waffle with ice-cream so we ordered their waffle with vanila ice-cream, berries and banana! So 丰富! Just seeing it makes me so happy!

Jayne was super attracted by the word 'Snickers' on the desserts menu so she immediately chose the Snickers tart hahhaa! Auntie ji enthu yi xia!

But it was too sweet for all of us because it's like 90% snickers omg. Sweetness overload.

We also had apple pie which I have no picture of because they kept complaining that I block their picture everytime I try to take a pic of it!! Hen bad leh!

Anyway, their apple pie is good too! You can taste big chunks of apple inside the pie and the sweetness is just right.

Always a great time whenever I'm with them! :)
